Education Business Excellence Award (previously IiWREL)
A quality assurance award to support whole school delivery and management in work related learning and enterprise.
This is an award which requires evidence in the form of a portfolio covering 3 years of work related and enterprise activities. Schools work with their EBP adviser closely during this period prior to an external assessor visit.
Once assessed, the award culminates in an award ceremony and celebration event which also recognises the support given by local businesses. The celebration event is a fantastic opportunity for schools and students to not only exhibit their work but also to demonstrate visually how they have worked with business partners.
The award is given for three years unless the evidence provided suggests an interim award with clear action points. The award is seen as a developmental tool and has been warmly appreciated by new post holders.
The 2011 Celebration event welcomed Michael Caines as guest speaker. Michael provided an inspirational talk to motivate young people into a career in catering and hospitality as well as following their own career path. He also relayed how he worked his way up the ranks to become one of the leading British chefs and a 2 Michelin star holder.
