IiWREL Celebration Event

Jun 21, 2010

On the 24 June 2010 24 Schools from across Devon and Cornwall will be descending on St Mellion International Resort to receive their IiWREL award.

The event will showcase the Work Related Learning that has taken place throughout the year through the rigorous IiWREL procedure. Schools will display stands and demonstrate activities that they have worked on with businesses, which in the past have been very inspiring.  Two local entrepreneurs, Sally Hurst of the Old Bag Company and Nick Hurst of Burts Chips will be guest speakers and presenting the awards.

Four local businesses will also receive awards in recognition of their commitment to working with schools.  These are Ashfords LLP, Palm FM, Cowlin Construction and PFA Research Ltd.

Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM Ambassadors) will gain awards for their consistent commitment to education and the time they give to schools and students as volunteers.

Four students will be recognised for the exceptional achievements as a result of their work experience and along with their school and placement will receive a certificate for their success.
