I’d like to thank you for inviting me to attend the Olympic Themed event for Yr8 students at Coombeshead College. I enjoyed listening to the presentations and being part of the day’s activities. My highlight was becoming a judge for the day!

 

Within my role as the Active Leisure Development Officer for Teignbridge District Council, I manage many community sports events and initiatives for all ages and abilities living in Teignbridge, ranging from Health Walks to Active Villages programmes, Devon Games to Inspire trials to the Teignbridge Street Games 2012.

The Olympic themed events at Coombeshead College linked very well to the promotion of the Olympic Torch Celebrations in May 2012 and a range of other events in the very busy 2012 calendar. The day gave me a chance to experience the creating and dynamic thought processes of the yr 8 students that took part. Thanks to the Devon Education Business Partnership for organising such a well managed and inspirational event for young people.
