Nuffield Bursary 2011

Robin Hayward a sixth form student from South Dartmoor Community College carried out his Nuffield Bursary placement at Plymouth University Geology Department.
Head of Department Malcolm Hart has supported the Nuffield Bursary programmes for many years and Robin was able to work alongside a university student Philip Martin who was carrying out a Nuffield undergraduate placement conducting a micropalaeontological and geochemical investigation on foraminifera and wood from the Paleocene Eocene boundary at Ermua in Northern Spain. Robin also worked on a micro fossil project and was shown some of the links with Chemistry by PhD student Hayley Manners. Stephen Grimes who is not in photograph also supported Robin with his Nuffield Project.
